It is a means of communication between two parties.

Types of means of communication
There are two types of means of communication, they are:-
المكتوبة
1) Written or (verbal) means of communication which include
((letters, telex, fax, notes, computer

هناك ثلاث أنواع من المراسلات الرسائل
There are three types of letters, they are:-
الرسائل التجارية
1) Commercial letters or (business- letters):- They are
letters which
are exchanged between companies, firms, commercial institutions
and businessmen.
They include: commercial transactions and contracts.

2) Official or (Governmental) letters.
They are letters which are exchanged between
governmental institutions and bodies They include : orders,
appointments….etc.

3) Personal or private letters
They are letters which are exchanged between friends and
relatives

The Importance Of Writing Letters
Why letters are more important than other means of
communication?
1) They give a permanent record or (document) to be referred
to whenever needed.
2) They are used as a means or ((medium)) of communication
between two parties.
3) They conserve time and effort by taking the place of
direct contacts.
4) They are cheaper and more economical than other means of
communication. They give the writer the chance to organize his thoughts,
re-read and revise the letter.
5) To give attention to details. It should be correct in every
details and shouldn’t have any mistakes.
6) It should be well paragraphed. Each letter should have 3
or more paragraphs and each paragraph consists of about (6-8) lines.
7) To promote good relations through:-
1) good products 2) good services 3) ethical conduct 4)
the appearance of the letter.
8) It flows smoothly; each part should be related to the other parts.
9) It should be courteous, friendly and sincere.
10) It should avoid jargon. Avoid using technical terms in
which
the reader may not understand.
11) The quality of appearance of the letter:
1- the quality of paper
2- the size of the paper
3- parts of the letter
4- letter’s layout
5- the letters lay lot
